Rebooting Near Moscow: How a Yoga Retreat Changed My Life Rhythm in Two Days

Date:

Sometimes you don’t need to “go on vacation,” you just need to take a breather. Don’t buy a ticket to Nepal, don’t wait for a vacation with ticks on the calendar, but just go — maybe for two days, but to a place where notifications and deadlines won’t find you. That’s what happened to me. I’d been feeling tired for a long time, but I didn’t have time to go far. One evening, while browsing through offers in search of something real, I came acrossthe website https://yogajourney.ru — and, without even realizing it, booked my most important weekend in years.

Just two days – but it feels like a week

The location chosen was very close to Moscow, but, strangely enough, the road there felt like a path to a completely different reality. Just half an hour after arriving — when I stepped out onto a clearing flooded with evening light and heard the fire crackling — something clicked inside. The usual thoughts about “I have to,” “I’ll make it,” “I’ll answer later” simply disappeared. Only the moment remained.

The practices started in the morning, and it was not yoga in the classic fitness format. It was something much deeper: you breathe, slowly enter into movement, feel every millimeter of the body and, surprisingly, for the first time in a long time you catch yourself not thinking about anything in your head. Completely here and now. It would seem – a couple of asanas and breathing, but the effect was more powerful than from a seaside vacation.

People I didn’t know but understood right away

The group was very sincere. No forced spirituality, no conversations with a fake smile – just ordinary people who also came to rest from the overload. We were in no hurry to communicate, but everything happened naturally. At dinner, on an evening walk, by the fire. We were united by this space – calm, honest, without fuss.

The instructor is a separate topic. Without pressure, without mantras “must feel the energy”, but with attention, warmth and the ability to support, if necessary. And to let go, if you just want to sit aside.

A campfire, tea and an evening you want to repeat

One of the most powerful moments happened on Saturday evening. We gathered around the fire — we hadn’t planned anything in advance, we just wanted to sit. And then the tea ceremony began. And it wasn’t a “show”, not a ritual for the sake of it, but a real moment of presence. Warm cups in our hands, fire in front of our eyes, rustling forest — all this added up to a feeling of complete silence, inside and out. I sat and thought: “This is it — peace. Not on vacation, not on the beach. But right here.”

The site that became a guide for me

After returning, I kept turning it all over in my head for a long time. And I came to a simple conclusion: you need to be able to go on such retreats not just occasionally, but regularly. Because sometimes we get overloaded not because we have too much to do, but because we have forgotten how to stop.

In this sense, the YogaJourney website turned out to be more than just a platform with a tour listing. It is a place where everything is thought out — from navigation to mood. Cozy, informative, beautiful. And most valuable — with soul. I am already scrolling through the schedule, choosing where to go next time. Because I realized that even a couple of days can become a real start of something new.
